Banana Walnut Loaf

Banana bread is the perfect treat for any occasion. A timeless recipe, our classic banana walnut loaf is easy to make and sure to please. Enjoy a slice for breakfast or a snack, or use this recipe to make a loaf for a special occasion.

Equipment

  • Electric mixer
  • 9”x5” Loaf Pan
  • Measuring Cups
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Silicone Spatula

Ingredients

  • Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Mashed Bananas
  • 2 Eggs
  • Cup Sugar
  • ½ Tsp Baking Soda
  • ½ Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • ¼ Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 °F
  • Let butter soften at room temperature
  • Cream butter and sugar together for 5 to 7 minutes
  • Scrape sides of bowl to ensure ingredients are well combined
  • Add eggs one at a time
  • Mix until just incorporated
  • Add buttermilk, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas
  • Add flour in increments, mix until just incorporated
  • Grease loaf pan
  • Smooth banana bread batter into loaf pan
  • Bake at 350 °F for approximately 60 minutes, or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean
  • Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes
  • Gently remove banana bread from loaf pan and allow to finish cooling on wire rack
  • Slice and enjoy!

Notes

For best results:
  • Be sure you use very ripe bananas
  • Let banana bread cool completely before slicing
  • Store banana bread at room temperature for 3 to 4 days
  • Freeze any leftovers for up to 4 months
